pH Effectiveness

How Effective are your Sanitation Treatments?

Chlorine/Shock is a great way to clear up your green/cloudy water. However, if the pH and/or alkalinity are too low, the sanitizer added to the water will not be nearly as effective. Thus, you may be wasting product (and money).

Remember: Your sanitizer may read 4ppm. However, the actual effectiveness may be closer to 1ppm if your pH/alkalinity levels are far enough off. . .

This is especially true during the opening season: Most pool water has extremely low pH/alkalinity, rendering shock treatments ineffective. Be sure to have your water balanced as best as possible. *In some cases, balancing the pH/alkalinity can help reduce/eliminate the appearance of green water.
